Social Concerns

NURTURING HOPE together

Empowering Community Action with Compassion

The Social Concerns Committee of Grace Lutheran Church assists our congregation in addressing the social, economic, and emotional needs of the church and community.

Some of our activities throughout the year include:

  • Food Drives: In the weeks leading up to Super Sunday, Grace participates in Souper Bowl Sunday to provide non-perishable food items for local food pantries. Also, Grace promotes the collection of additional food and basic life necessity items throughout the year.

  • Christmas Cookie Walk: (about the 2nd weekend of Dec.) Grace members contribute delicious Christmas baked goods and gather them for sale in our Fellowship Hall. These proceeds are then directed to ELCA World Hunger Fund or local food pantries to help provide food and other resources for those in need here locally and around the world.

  • Share the Love Tree (Christmas Season): Stars (Ripon area) and Angels (Green Lake County) are hung on Grace's Christmas tree for members to pick and then purchase the listed gift or gift card from our Script Service. The generous donors then return their gift(s) to Grace, where the coordinating charitable organization will pick them up, distribute them to families in need, thus brightening Christmas morning for many in our local communities.
